Wrist width (measured parallel to L2L distance on the watch) is the most important for how the watch wears. Mosts wrists have an elliptical cross section with eccentricity of ~0.4 (it's not a perfect cylinder, not even close). For sizing the bracelet, use Wrist circumference. Here are a couple of shots of my OP36 on my 6" wrist. The best photo I've ever taken of any of my watches is without a doubt this one: A couple other decent snaps: This is probably the only Rolex I'll ever own but I think it's pretty much the ideal watch for a small wrist.

Just from a fit perspective, the Explorer and the YM 37 look the best on your wrist. The YM is going to be closest to the Submariner, so that’s probably the way to go. If you really love the Sub and it’s something you will always want, fuck it and just get the Submariner.

The 5-digit 14060 would look great on you. The 6-digit 114060 or 124060 would look too big. That's the cool thing about the current state of the Submariner- there are enough of them in the wild to find one in the right size for everyone down to a 6" wrist.
